Bell Canyon Community Center Metal Roof Project
The newly installed roof on the BCCC cost the community over $800,000 when you factor in the board decided to fund this project with a loan at 9% interest; money that we simply don't have. What is even worse is the completed roof which has dimples and ripples throughout. Dimples or ripples on a new metal roof, often referred to as "oil canning," are typically caused by uneven stresses during the manufacturing process or by incorrect installation practices. The metal may wrinkle or deform due to over-tightening fasteners, improper use of shims, or not following the manufacturer's installation guidelines.

Another concern with the current board rushing to complete construction projects without community involvement is the destruction of the Cliff May architecture that was protected under the Ventura County Cultural Heritage Board . Similarly, the Bell Canyon Equestrian Center is registered as a national historic place. In the 1970's, Cliff May built the Bell Canyon Equestrian Center, Community Center and a Custom Home.
